How often should I have my door or opener serviced?
If you are not having any problems and your door is working smoothly and quietly, a preventative maintenance call is suggested once a year with normal use. If your door/ opener is older and or gets heavy use, you may want to have this maintenance done more frequently. If you have any concerns of safety do not operate the door and call a service professional.
Can I work on my own door?
Simple lubrication or a tightening of a hinge is fine. Lubricate the door with a light duty spray lube, like wd-40 or a silicone spray. This can be used on the rollers, track, springs, hinges and the operator chain (if it has one). Remember to remove your car from the garage so that no oil will drip on your car.
Can I adjust my springs?
Never! Homeowners should never attempt to remove, adjust any cables, springs, or bottom fixtures on any door. These items are under great tension and could inflict serious injury and/or death. Always call a service professional to adjust or replace any spring, cable, or bottom fixture.
Do you work on all makes and models?

I have a low ceiling in my garage. Will a garage door and opener work in my space?
Yes. A residential door requires a minimum of 4 ½” of headroom space. Your system will need a low headroom extension track or a low headroom torsion rear track. For a garage door opener you will need slightly more headroom, about 6 ½” minimum.
How can I get a new remote control for my opener?
Your Overhead Door distributor can provide you with a broad range of opener accessories from remote controls to wireless keypads. You will first need to determine if your opener is a newer model with CodeDodger® or an older model that does not have CodeDodger® . However, if your opener was manufactured before 1980, you have an analog type opener that we no longer carry remotes for and your system will need to be upgraded with a new receiver kit. These kits are available in our parts department.

Yes, our parts department for insulation kits available for installation.
